The “Ciudad Perdida” is located about 40 km south-west from Santa Marta. The journey into history is a must-do for everyone travelling in this region. This hidden township was inhabited between 700 and 1600 AD by the indigenous community of the Tayronas and was due to its construction made up of more than 250 terraces that it was never found by the Spaniards on the times of conquest.  La Ciudad Perdida was accidentally discovered in 1975 by the “Guaqueros”, tomb raiders. The city displays an impressive complex architecture.
