Medellín, the city of the eternal spring, is the capital city of the department of Antioquia and the second largest city in Colombia. It is well known for its commercial and industrial development, the flower industry, its breathtaking culture and exciting nightlife as well as its charming atmosphere and people. The city gathers thousands of foreigners all year long, since it is scenery for various international fairs and events such as the famous “Flower Fair” and the fashion event “Colombia Moda”. There is no other place in Colombia which is so rich in contrasts like Medellín: modern, innovative, open- minded and metropolitan. This region offers as well a variety of regional dishes such as Sancocho (a soup consisting of chicken, potatoes & plantains), Mondongo (a soup consisting of cassava, tripe, pork & hen), Bandeja Paisa (a dish consisting of egg, rice, beans, beef, pork, hogago, chorizo sausage and a sauce made out of tomatoes and onions).
