Your journey starts with the visit of the old railway bridge in Amagá. Here you get an insight on the history of the Colombian railways. From there you drive through the tiny village of Fredonia where you experience the Paisa culture firsthand. Through amazing landscapes you go down to the valley of the Cauca River to the idyllic finca Guacarí near the mountain village of Támesis where you spend the night. In the afternoon you can relax at the swimming pool with spectacular views and enjoy the vastness of the fertile Cauca valley or visit a traditional sugar cane farm where you will be introduced to the production of the famous Colombian Panela.Tag 2Kayak trip on the Cauca River
Early in the morning you head to the village of La Pintada and start your kayak tour on the Cauca River. On the ride through breath-taking landscapes you see the immense variety of Flora and Fauna that blankets the Cauca valley. After lunch on the waterside you visit traditional gold miners and learn more about their daily work. In the process you get the opportunity to mine for gold in the river. In the late afternoon you arrive at your finca hotel in Támesis.Tag 3Petroglyph Tour & visit of an organic Coffee farm
In the morning a guide lead you through a tour of the surroundings of Támesis. You visit the archeological sites in the region. Támesis is known as one of the villages with the greatest density of indigenous pre-Hispanic petroglyphs in Colombia. You see different types of petroglyphs and learn some of their significances. Later that day, we drive to the remote settlement of San Pablo. San Pablo is like going back in time. The town has preserved its culture and way of living through the years. Mainly sugar cane and coffee is cultivated on the steep hillsides and horses are still the most important means of transportation. Here we visit an organic coffee farm and learn more about coffee from the plant to the cup. You will spend the night in the finca hotel in Támesis again.Tag 4Hike in the Cloud Forest of the San Antonio Nature Reserve
On this day you go hiking through the mysterious cloud forests in the San Antonio nature reserve located in the mountains above Támesis. A pre-Hispanic stone path will take you higher and higher into the impressive mountain rain forest. A guide familiar with the place will show you waterfalls hidden within the rocks, underground rivers, caves, and the most spectacular viewpoints. You will spend the night in the finca hotel in Támesis again.Tag 5Adventure in Támesis (Tubing / Rappel)
The last day of your trip holds another adventure for you. You can choose between a fun and bumpy ride on a tube on Rio Cartama accompanied by experienced guides or rappel the powerful waterfalls in the San Antonio nature reserve (Canoeing / Torrentismo). This adrenaline charged experience is also guided by trained, professional guides so that all you have to do is rappel yourself carefree. In the late afternoon we will get on road to Medellín.
