On today’s agenda: A city Tour through Colombia’s capital.
Your trip starts by heading to the Monserrate hill. The cable car takes you up to the top of Monserrate, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the bustling metropolis of Bogotá. Here you will visit the on top of the mountain located church and enjoy an amazing view. Afterwards you will visit the historic downtown of Bogotá “La Candelaria” with its magnificent churches, the government palace and the "Plaza Bolivar.” Furthermore you will visit the famous gold museum “Museo del Oro” (closed on Mondays) and the Esmeralda museum (closed on Sundays) as well as the museum of Botero (closed on Tuesdays) where you can marvel at the many great art works of the famous Colombian artist – for example the “Mona Lisa” in exaggerated shape. At last you will visit the botanical garden.

Today you will visit the salt mine of Nemocon. This adventure leads you 60 meter underneath the ground with shafts if a total length of 2.500 meters. Be amazed by impressive rock and salt formations, the mirror like lakes and fond of wishes. Furthermore you will visit the chapel “La Virgen del Carmen” and the heart of the Nemocon mine. Afterwards you will head on to the Lagoon Guatavita.
After your visit at the famous gold museum in Bogotá yesterday, you will follow the legend of “El Dorado” by visiting the “Laguna de Guatavita” today. This Crater Lake is situated at an altitude of 3.000 meters. This legend is says that heir to the throne were crowned here. During these ceremonies gold offerings were sunk. According to the legend, alligators, grogs, fish and monkeys made of pure gold were fished from the lake whereupon the legendary treasure of the “El Dorado” is still untraceable. You walk up a steep path up to 3.000 meters until you reach the crater rim. From here you will see the magic looking lagoon. Your guide will tell you the history of this magical place as you walk along the crater rim. Afterwards you will head back to the bustling capital Bogotá (B/-/-)
