This colonial town is one of the most visited places in Colombia; it is located in the Eastern Andean Mountain Range. It was founded in 1572 and its architecture represents the colonial customs in the area. Villa de Leyva is known for its paleontological and archaeological history. Drink a cup of hot chocolate with cheese and try almojabana in one of the cafés at the cobble-stoned main square which is considered as the largest plaza in Colombia.
